Coaching starts with what’s happening in your life—not a formula for how it should look. Here are a few reasons you might reach out.
A new chapter, a shifting role, or an uncertain next step. Make space to understand what matters to you now.
Work, family, and everyday responsibilities can crowd out your own needs. Explore priorities and a balance that feels more like you.
Prepare for a difficult conversation or healthcare visit by clarifying your concerns, questions, and what you want to say.
Turn a hope or goal into a manageable next step, with someone to reflect with and recognize your progress.
Not sure where your situation fits? That’s something we can explore in a free discovery call.
Our nursing experience shapes how we listen: with compassion, curiosity, and respect for the whole person.
You bring your experience. We help you explore it, build on your strengths, and choose a way forward that feels meaningful to you.
In a free 30-minute discovery call, share what brings you here, ask questions, and see whether we’re a good fit.
Through listening and reflective questions, we’ll explore your values, priorities, strengths, and what may be getting in the way.
Choose small, intentional actions toward your goals. Reflect on what you’re learning and recognize progress along the way.
We founded Root and Wing after seeing how often people need more time to be heard. We created this practice to make room for those conversations—and for what comes next.

Janis is a registered nurse licensed in Oregon and California. Her nursing work has brought her alongside women and families through vulnerable moments, health concerns, and life transitions.
In coaching, she helps you clarify your priorities, notice unmet needs, and build on your strengths—whether you’re preparing for a conversation or making a change in your life.
Janis’s nursing experience includes supporting women and families during labor, unexpected complications, and early parenthood, as well as people navigating grief, chronic conditions, and confusing symptoms. These experiences inform her respect for each person’s story. Coaching is separate from clinical nursing care.

Andrea is a registered nurse and co-founder of Root and Wing. She shares the practice’s commitment to helping people feel seen, cared for, and supported as they explore what matters most.
Clients describe her coaching as warm, thoughtful, and nonjudgmental. Their experiences include reflecting on work and family balance, understanding procrastination, and developing supportive routines.
Rather than telling me what to do, she helped me discover my own answers and develop practical strategies that felt achievable and meaningful for my life.
This coaching has helped me focus on tasks and determine triggers to my procrastination. Work and family balance is always an issue, our talks have helped in that regard.
I have learned that goals do not have to be big to make a difference and it is possible to set realistic, small steps to achieve success.
